Castle Farm - Harold Hill
Castle Farm again! This time outside the old football club in Retford Road sometime in 1969.
From left to right: Pete Barker (Vocals), Spyder Curphey (Bass), Steve Traveller (Drums), Tex Benike (Guitar).

Spyder Curphey:

'Jim Moore’s music shop in Hornchurch was a magnet to the local musicians. That’s how we formed our band. Tex and me were at Barking Art College, that’s where I met him.

The Kings Head was an important gig. It’s knocked down now, but it was where T.J. Hughes is now. That was a big old-fashioned coaching inn, it was massive. They used to get all the top bands playing there and we used to support nearly all of them. We supported Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Family; we supported Taste five or six times. It was a major venue, all the bands played there - Fleetwood Mac, Ten Years After. We pretty much supported all the bands. Soft Machine played there too.'
