We moved to Harold Hill in 1950 from the East End as our house was bombed twice in the war. I lived in Harold hill until I was in my twenties. We moved into a new house and it was still a building site at the back. The roads were empty - there was mainly buses, not many people had cars. We played in the road a lot, and I use to go and watch telly over the road as no one else had a tv. I lived with my mum, dad and 3 brothers and one sister. I enjoyed living there and still go back to see my friends. |
