I was born in Harold Hill in 1958 at home in a prefab in Clematis Road. We lived there until about 1969, we were one of the last to leave, my dad refused the offer of one of the newly built council townhouses nearby. We eventually managed to get a nice one in Hutton, Brentwood. Both my parents are now no longer with us and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa, but still have great memories of the place, Sextons Field and the shops at Briars Avenue I think it was called. |
